Blue

Karen Klemp is presenting her second one person show at Central Park Place called "BLUE" through February 7th, 2026. It features compositions in blue with an emphasis on contemporary batik.

Valentine's Benefit

Wooden Valentines from artists around the country will be displayed and for sale February 1st - 7th to benefit Humanity For Prisoners, an organization defending human treatment of those incarcerated.

Astrology Readings

Karen will be giving a talk on astrology in May at Norton Shores Public Library (date to be released).

Artist Statement

Karen S. Klemp, born in 1949, has lived in Michigan most of her life. Her media varies from year-to-year. In 2024 Klemp focused on acrylic painting on board. In 2025 she is going back to an earlier love of batik, however, using the dyes, wax and raw silk in a more contemporary way.

Her favorite place to work is in her own backyard when weather permits. The sound of rushing water down her waterfall and birds playing in the bushes are her muse. Whether she is painting or dying, the sound and feel of water is ethereal to her.

The reason she does art and teaches workshops is condensed into one word: JOY. She feels like heaven is in her own backyard. She hopes to convey that to her viewers and participants in her workshops.
